NEET-MDS 2024 Final Dates: NEET-MDS 2024 students across the country are still in confusion and tension regarding the exam dates, because till now no decision has been taken regarding the final dates of the exam. The National Eligibility Entrance Test 2024 for BDS students seeking admission to PG courses was announced on March 18, with the cutoff date for internship set at March 31. After which the students alleged that if the examination is conducted on these dates, more than 8,000 interns across the country will become ineligible to take the examination.
The students had approached the Supreme Court and filed a petition to change the exam dates. After which, taking cognizance of the petition, the bench of Justice DY Chandrachuran and Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra issued a notice saying that the hearing will be held on February 21, 2024.
However, the government has not yet taken any decision regarding the date, due to which the students are confused. Looking at the current schedule, the exam will be conducted on March 18 and there are two weeks left for the exam to begin. In such a situation, students are still confused whether they will participate in this examination or not. A student said – The exam dates have not been finalized yet, hence we students are in tension along with confusion.
Another student said: “Extending the eligibility cutoff date is really illogical as one cannot prepare for the national level examination in less than 18 days. Also, counseling for both Medical and Dental NEET happens simultaneously, so it is useless to give us the exam four months before their exam. Moreover, the authorities cannot give us admission to the course before the completion of the exams for first year PG students, which are usually held in December.
In view of the problems of the students, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is considering the request to postpone the NEET MDS 2024 exam till July. All India Students Union (AISU) received an RTI reply stating that the request is still under process.
