GATE 2023: Know before the exam- When will your admit card be considered valid? read guidelines

GATE 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will start the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 from next Saturday (February 4, 2023). The admit card for the exam has been released at gate.iitk.ac.in. Along with the admit card, IIT Kanpur has also released several important instructions which all the candidates must follow during their examination. Let us know the important instructions.

GATE 2023 admit card – Direct Link

On the day of GATE exam, all the candidates must bring the printout of the admit card along with valid photo identity proof. Candidates must ensure that the photo on the ID is recognizable or not.

– GATE admit card will be considered valid only if both the photograph and signature are clear. To ensure this, candidates must take a printout of the admit card on A4 size paper using a laser printer.

Candidates must report at the examination center at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the examination. Candidates can login 20 minutes before the commencement of the exam and start reading the instructions.

During the examination, a virtual scientific calculator will be displayed on the computer screen for numerical calculation. Personal calculator or any other electronic device is not allowed. Candidates are not allowed to bring any chart/ table/ paper/ books/ sheet/ heavy jewelery in the examination hall.

– A scribble pad will be provided to each candidate for rough work. Before using it candidates have to write their name and registration number on it. Candidates can keep only one scribble pad at any point of time. If the scribble pad is full, they may ask for another, after returning the first one to the invigilator. At the end of the test, the remaining scribble pad must also be returned to the invigilator.

All candidates must bring their own pen and pencil. Along with this, transparent water bottle and pocket-sized hand sanitizer are also allowed. Candidates are not allowed to bring any other items other than these. If any candidate is found in possession of any prohibited item, his/her registration will be canceled or disciplinary action will be taken.

– Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.

– GATE admit card can be used as a pass if there are restrictions on movement in certain areas.
