Studying in all 23 IITs of the country will be expensive. A proposal to increase the fees will be brought in the IIT Council. Fees are expected to increase by 10 to 15 percent. If the proposal gets the green signal, the fees will increase from 11 thousand to 17 thousand. The fee of IIT Patna is 1,13300 for general category students each semester. The fee hike will be applicable from the new session 2023. Different IITs have different fees prescribed. The fees will increase accordingly. The issue of fee hike in IIT institutes had come before the Council recently. But this was not approved by the Ministry of Education.
After the intervention of the Ministry, it will be put up for reconsideration in the Council. After this, considering the increase in fees as necessary, it will be approved. According to the information received from IIT sources, the council team has said to increase the fees by 10 to 15 rupees. This fee hike is to be in the tuition fee of B.Tech only.
Preparation is going on to increase fees in NIT also
As soon as IIT will increase the fees. Immediately after that there will be an increase in NIT. NIT has also started preparations for this. NIT is also keeping an eye on the fee hike decision of IIT Council. However, officially nothing is being said about this from NIT. According to sources, soon the proposal can be sent to the government.
