DU: If family income is Rs 4 lakh, DU fees will be waived off, shock for BTech and LLB students

Delhi University (DU) has again started the application process for the fee waiver scheme to provide relief to low income group students. Under this, students will be given 50 to 100 percent relaxation in fees. However, the Dean Students Welfare Office has clarified that this time students enrolled in the five-year Law and B.Tech programs will not get this benefit. An official said that both these courses were started by DU last year. The students enrolled in these have been given the benefit of fee waiver. Eligible students can apply till January 10.

Dean Students Welfare Department official says that Delhi University is committed to holistic and inclusive education. To cater to the interests of students from diverse backgrounds, the Office of the Dean Students Welfare has announced the Financial Aid Scheme for the academic session 2023-24.

Self-attested copy of EWS, OBC-NCL Certificate or Annual Family Income Certificate issued by the competent authority after 31 March 2023. Income certificate signed by a notary will not be accepted.

Family income should be less than Rs 4 lakh

The family income of a full-time student pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in any DU institute should be less than Rs 4 lakh. Its fee will be waived 100 percent of the actual fee or a maximum of Rs 10,000. If the family income of the student is between Rs 4 to 8 lakh, then 50 percent of his actual fee or a maximum of Rs 8 thousand will be waived. DU has clarified that a student with Essential Repeat (ER) in any previous examination is not eligible to apply.
