After the introduction of CUET, even if there is not much role left of 12th marks in UG admission. But in many places the role of CBSE Marks is very important.

From taking admission in higher classes to getting job.. there are many such exams and companies where your 10th, 12th board marks play a big role. Know from career expert Dinesh Pathak…

Importance of CBSE 12th Marks in Engineering

If you are thinking of doing IIT JEE, then just passing JEE Mains or JEE Advanced is not enough. For admission in IIT, NIT, Triple IT and other centrally funded engineering colleges, you must have at least 75% marks in 12th board. This criteria was dropped at the time of Kovid. But it has been started again.

Now after admission, when three years of studies are completed, then in the fourth year there is a placement drive in colleges. Companies come. Takes exam. Tests whether you are fit for the job or not and selects you. Many large scale recruiting IT companies including TCS, IBM, Infosys ask for at least 60% in High School (10th) and Inter (12th). Some big but less hiring IT companies want 70 to 80 percent marks in board exams.

The general rule under Campus Placement is that the college sends the data of every student to the company beforehand, in which your marks are also recorded. When the company comes to the campus, it already shortlists the students with low marks. They are not informed at all.

The story of numbers does not end here. After B.Tech some students go for job and some for M.Tech or other master's degree courses. Many big universities also give importance to 12th marks in MTech.

Importance of CBSE Marks in IIM, Other MBA Colleges

Even if you score very well in CAT Exam, your High School, Inter, UG marks will be seen. It is not a big deal that because of them, you do not get admission in the college of your choice. No matter how high percentile you have secured in CAT exam.
