BEd: New notice from NCTE, this B.Ed code will be closed in the country, colleges will have to do this work till 31st May

In view of the new education policy, the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) has discontinued the old 4-year B.Ed courses (BA B.Ed and B.Sc. B.Ed). NCTE has invited applications from colleges to start four-year B.Ed course (fourth stage ITEP course). NCTE will run a four-year B.Ed course from the year 2025. Under the new education policy, NCTE has changed the format of B.Ed course. Colleges can apply for the four-year B.Ed course from April 1, 2024 to May 31, 2024. NCTE has also prepared standards for applying. Only those institutions which have received NAAC grading will be able to apply for this course. However, none of the 63 colleges of Muzaffarpur BRABU has received NAAC grading. Apart from NAAC, there should also be NIRF ranking of colleges.

The four-year integrated B.Ed course which is older than the academic session 2025-26 will be closed. The session of 2024-25 will be the last session of the old four-year B.Ed course. After this there will be no new admissions. Only the new four-year B.Ed integrated course ITEP (BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed) will be run in various teacher training institutes.

NCTE has said that the recognition of those institutes which are already offering four-year integrated B.Sc. B.Ed and BA B.Ed courses will continue. At present, they will not be allowed to take admission of students till 2025 subject to the condition that they will convert to the new integrated B.Ed course ITEP (ITEP BEd) as per the amended regulations before the beginning of the academic session 2025-26. Any institute (B.Ed college or institute) running the old four-year integrated B.Ed course will not be allowed to make fresh admissions from the session 2025-26.
