Tesla has made a 5-year investment plan for India. There is talk that the new EV policy of the Central Government is coming soon. Currently, Tesla is waiting for the new policy to come out. 

Tesla will make the biggest foreign investment in the country 

Hindustan Times, quoting sources, reported that if Tesla decides to come to India, it will be the biggest foreign investment in the country. Sources involved in the discussions related to Tesla's project said that Tesla plans to invest about 3 billion dollars in its plant. Apart from this, its affiliated companies will also invest about 10 billion dollars in India. Apart from this, there will be an investment of about 5 billion dollars in the battery segment which will increase with time to about 15 billion dollars. He said that we have full hope that Tesla will invest about 30 billion dollars.

Waiting for the EV policy of the Central Government 

The Modi government at the Center is busy finalizing the EV policy. This policy will play the most important role in bringing Tesla to India. According to the report, if the import duty on EVs made abroad is reduced in the new policy, then Tesla will accelerate its plans to come to India.

According to sources, Tesla wants to launch its manufactured products in India first. At the same time, it will also start working on charging infrastructure. She also wants to make Made in India car. It will take about 3 years to build a factory for this. The company will also focus on exporting EV cars from India. 

Elon Musk is a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

According to reports, Tesla owner Elon Musk is the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He appreciates the efforts made by the PM to take the country forward. Elon Musk and PM Modi met in New York in June last year. He had said that PM Modi has invited him to invest in India. He is also seriously considering this. However, the Indian government is promoting EVs in the country. But, it is not ready to give any concession as per the company.
