BSE Sensex rises 153 point but investor loses 1 lakh and 38 thousand crore rupee – Business News India

There was a lot of volatility in the stock market on Monday. The concern related to the new variant of the corona virus clearly affected the movement of the market. However, the stock markets finally closed on the green mark. The BSE Sensex closed at 57,260.58, up 153.43 points. The Sensex kept moving around in the 1,250 point range. Even after this rally in the market, the investors have suffered heavy losses. The wealth of equity investors declined by Rs 1.38 lakh crore to Rs 256.93 lakh crore on Monday. This has been said in a report by Economic Times.

Kotak Mahindra Bank top gainer on BSE
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed at 17,053.95, down 27.50 points on Monday. Kotak Mahindra Bank was the top gainer among bluechip stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank rose 2.92 per cent. Apart from this, shares of HCL Tech, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Titan, Reliance Industries Limited, HDFC Bank, Infosys also rose.

Nifty small cap and mid cap declined
BPCL was the top loser in Nifty. Shares of the company fell 2.56 per cent. Besides BPCL, Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, UPL, NTPC, ONGC, Indian Oil, Axis Bank, Hero MotoCorp and Shree Cement fell. On Monday, Nifty Smallcap declined 2.61 per cent. At the same time, Nifty Midcap lost 1.35 percent. Nifty 500 saw a decline of 0.35 percent. AstraZeneca, JK Lakshmi Cement, JB Chemical & Pharma, Pfizer, Alkem Labs and Ipca Labs were the top gainers in mid and smallcaps. The shares of these companies jumped between 2-8 per cent.
