Mukesh Ambani: Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries and Walt Disney will now work together in India. An agreement has been reached between the two companies to merge media operations. Discussion on this deal was going on for a long time. Reliance will have 61 percent stake in this joint venture of RIL and Disney. Disney has taken this decision due to strong competition in India. 

Deal finalized between Reliance and Walt Disney

According to Bloomberg report, the deal between Reliance and Walt Disney has been finalized. According to sources, it will be announced soon. At present, both the companies have refused to reveal anything regarding this deal. While finalizing the deal, there may be some changes in the distribution of shares based on Disney's local assets. 

Reliance preparing to buy Tata Play 

It has been claimed in the report that Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries is also considering buying Tata Play Limited. Disney also has a stake in this broadcast service provider. Currently, Tata Play is owned by Tata Sons. Tata Sons has 50.2 percent stake in the company. Apart from this, the remaining shares are held by Disney and Singapore investment company Temasek. 

Due to the deal, a giant media company will be born 

After the deal between Disney and Reliance, a giant media company will be born in India's entertainment sector. According to the report, Reliance will invest a huge amount of $ 1.5 billion for 61 percent stake in this deal. American giant Disney was worried due to the tough competition from Reliance in the OTT segment. There was a tough fight between the two in 2022 over the rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But in this, Reliance won. Then Reliance also snatched the rights to broadcast HBO shows from Disney. Due to immense pressure, Disney had to make the broadcast of India's Cricket World Cup free on mobile.
