PM Suryoday Yojana: People will save Rs 18 thousand crore through rooftop solar panel scheme, large number of jobs will be available.

PM Suryoday Yojana:Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced Suryoday Yojana (PM Suryoday Yojana) for installation of solar panels. Now taking this scheme forward, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given information about many important things related to the scheme in the interim budget 2024.  The Finance Minister says that through this scheme, more than 1 crore families of the country will be able to save up to Rs 18,000 crore annually. Along with this, people will also get new employment opportunities.

There will be savings of Rs 18,000 crore – Finance Minister

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while announcing the PM Suryodaya Yojana in the interim Budget 2024, said that by installing solar panels on the rooftop, a family will be able to save at least 300 units of electricity, which will help more than one crore families of the country. More than Rs 18,000 crore will be saved. Along with this, these families can also earn additional income by selling excess electricity to power companies.

The target of net zero has to be achieved by 2070 – Government

PM Modi had announced about the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana after returning from the Pran Pratishtha program of Ayodhya. Taking this scheme forward, the Finance Minister said in his budget speech that India is trying to achieve the 'Net Zero' target of 2070. For this, the government is trying to promote environmentally friendly energy sources. Apart from solar energy, the government is trying to arrange additional funds to pursue wind energy sources. The government will provide funds to government power companies to generate 1,000 MW of electricity through wind energy. Along with this, the government will also provide assistance in purchasing the necessary equipment to make biogas.

Employment opportunities will be available

Through PM Suryodaya Yojana, the Finance Minister has expressed hope that new employment opportunities will be created in the country through electric vehicles. Youth having skills will get employment to supply the energy generated through this scheme. This will create more employment opportunities in future.
