Petrol-Diesel Price: Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri was asked a question about the reduction in the prices of petrol diesel, then he gave this answer…

Petrol-Diesel Prices: Despite the decrease in the prices of crude oil in the last few months, government oil companies have not given any relief to the common people by reducing the prices of petrol diesel. Despite this, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri said that despite the upheaval in the global energy market, India has kept the prices of petroleum products like petrol diesel affordable. Apart from neighboring countries  The price of petrol and diesel in India has been increased marginally in the last two years as compared to many large economy countries.

When the Petroleum Minister was asked whether the government is planning to cut the prices of petroleum products as it has been getting crude oil from Russia at a cheaper price for more than a year? Te Petroleum Minister did not give a direct answer to this question. He said that the discount is not getting that much now. He said that initially there was a good discount but they started increasing the prices and now the discount is not that much.

Hardeep Puri said that between June 2021 and June 2023, petrol prices in India are likely to increase by 2.36 per cent while in Pakistan by 50.83 per cent,  Bangladesh by 30.11 per cent, Sri Lanka by 79.61 per cent and Nepal by 42.39 per cent during this period. Per cent fuel prices have increased. Citing data from major economies, Hardeep Puri said petrol prices have increased by 30.15 per cent in the US during this period, 22.67 per cent in France, 19.08 per cent in Germany, 14.68 per cent in Italy, 17 per cent in Spain. , 10.93 per cent in UK and 24.17 per cent in Canada.

Petroleum Minister said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself was keeping an eye on the situation and on two occasions in November 2021 and May 2022, the government gave relief to the common people from expensive petrol diesel by reducing the excise duty on petrol diesel. Attacking the opposition parties, he said that even the BJP-ruled states had taken a decision to reduce VAT immediately, while those who keep talking about expensive petrol and diesel did not reduce VAT in their states. Hardeep Puri said that the prices of petrol and diesel are higher in states ruled by opposition parties than in states ruled by BJP.

It is clear from these statements of the Ministry of Petroleum that there is no possibility of reduction in the prices of petrol diesel at present, even though government petroleum companies are making a profit of Rs 8 to 10 per liter on selling petrol diesel.
