JSW Group: JSW will set up a huge plant for EV vehicles and batteries, there will be an investment of Rs 40 thousand crores.

EV and Battery Plant: The country's leading steel manufacturing company JSW Group has decided to enter Electric Vehicle (EV) and EV Battery manufacturing. There is going to be a big stir with the entry of JSW Group in the EV sector. For this the company is going to invest about Rs 40 thousand crores. This decision of the company will create about 11 thousand jobs. JSW Group has also signed an MoU with the Government of Odisha for this plant. 

EV battery plant will have a capacity of 50 gigawatts

According to the information, these plants can be set up in Cuttack and Paradip. This will bring huge benefits to the green energy sector. Under this project, an electric vehicle battery plant with a capacity of 50 gigawatts will be set up. Along with this, electric vehicle, lithium refinery, copper smelter and parts making plant will also be set up. 

High skill employment will be created- Naveen Patnaik

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the government is very excited about the green energy sector. New opportunities and possibilities are being promoted in the state. With this plant, the EV infrastructure in the state will be further strengthened. Besides, it will also create a lot of employment opportunities for the youth. This agreement with JSW Group will create high skilled jobs in the state. We will also get support in the industrialization of the state. Paths to economic progress will open and youth can also be trained in the EV sector.

JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal said that this EV and battery plant will further strengthen our relations with Odisha. This will benefit all stakeholders. Besides, new experiments, employment and economic progress will be encouraged. We feel very happy to enter the EV sector.
