Stock Market Closing On 26 February 2024:The first trading day of the week has closed after greatly disappointing the investors of the Indian stock market. Heavy profit booking has been seen by investors in the market. This selling has been seen in the market led by IT and banking stocks. Sensex has slipped below 73,000 and closed. At the end of today's trading, BSE Sensex closed at 72,790 points, down by 352 points, while Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 22,122 points, down by 91 points.
Sector condition
In today's trade, IT and banking shares closed with a big fall. Nifty IT index closed down by 447 points and Banking Nifty index closed down by 235 points. Apart from this, stocks of pharma, metals, media, consumer durables, healthcare sectors closed with decline. Midcap and small cap stocks also closed falling. Stocks of auto, energy, infra and oil and gas sectors closed sharply. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 7 closed with gains and 23 closed with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 13 closed with gains and 37 closed with losses.
