GST Data: Strong jump in GST collection after excellent GDP figures, recovery of Rs 1.68 lakh crore in November 2023

GST Collection Data For November 2023: Due to the season of Diwali, Dhanteras, Chhath and Saadi, there has been a huge jump in GST collection in the month of November. GST collection in November 2024 has been Rs 1.68 lakh crore, a jump of 15 percent compared to the same month last year. However, there has been a decline in GST collection in November as compared to October 2023. GST collection in the month of October was Rs 1.72 lakh crore."text-align: justify;">The Finance Ministry has released the data of GST collection, according to which the total GST collection in November 2023 has been Rs 1,67,929 crore, which was Rs 1,72,003 crore in the previous month of October. According to the data, CGST was Rs 30,420 crore, SGST was Rs 38,226 crore, IGST was Rs 87,009 crore. Last month, IGST collection was Rs 91,315 crore. Whereas the collection of cess has been Rs 12,274 crore, of which Rs 1036 crore has been collected on imported goods.

According to the Finance Ministry, there has been a 15 percent jump in GST collection in November 2023 as compared to November 2022. This is the sixth time in the financial year 2023-24 when GST collection has been more than Rs 1.60 lakh crore. In the financial year 2023-24, the total GST collection during the months of April to November has increased by 11.9 percent to Rs 13,32,440 crore whereas the total GST collection during the same period last year was Rs 11,90,920 crore. The average GST collection in these eight months has been Rs 1.66 lakh crore every month. Which was an average of Rs 1.49 lakh crore in the same period of 2022-23. 

GST collection in the month of April of this financial year was Rs 1,87,035 crore, which is a record high. After this there was a slight decline between May and September.
