According to the report of Moneycontrol, Elon Musk's Starlink is going to give information about its shareholding pattern before the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. After this it will get an operating certificate from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). According to the report, after this a letter will be sent by the Department of Telecommunications to Telecom Secretary Neeraj Mittal and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. After getting the approval from the Ministry, an approval letter will be issued to Starlink by the Satellite Communications Wing.

OneWeb and Reliance Jio have already got the license 

Starlink had applied for its Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite Services (GMPCS) license in 2022. After getting the approval, it will become the third company to get this license after OneWeb and Reliance Jio.

What will be the speed of Starlink

According to global reports, Starlink provides download speeds ranging from 25 to 220 Mbps to customers. It is claimed by the company that their upload speed is around 5 to 20 Mbps. Starlink website claims that most of the customers are enjoying download speeds of more than 100 Mbps. At present, it is difficult to get such speed through optical fiber of towers in remote areas of India.
