Budget 2024: Halwa ceremony organized in the Finance Ministry before the presentation of the interim budget, how sweet the budget will be!

Budget 2024 Halwa Ceremony: With the Halwa Ceremony organized at the Finance Ministry located in North Block on Raisina Hills, the exercise to prepare the interim budget of 2024 has started. And with this, till the presentation of the budget on February 1, 2024, more than 100 employees of the Finance Ministry have been locked in the Finance Ministry and they will be allowed to go out only after the presentation of the budget. You won't even be able to go to your home until the budget is presented.

Finance Minister distributed halwa with his own hands 

Like every year, this year also a Halwa ceremony was organized before the presentation of the budget. During the Halwa ceremony, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad and top officials of the Finance Ministry were present. Finance Minister Sitharaman took out halwa from her hands and distributed it to all the people present. The belief behind the Halwa Ceremony is that one should eat something sweet before doing any auspicious work. Halwa is considered very auspicious in Indian tradition. This is the reason why this ceremony is organized before the printing of the budget document. 

Interim budget will be paperless

Like the budget of the last three years, this year also the interim budget 2024 will be paperless. It will be introduced on February 1, 2024. The Finance Ministry said that all the budget documents including Annual Financial Statement, Demand for Grants and Finance Bill will be in the Union Budget mobile app. It will be available on 'Union Budget Mobile App' on both Android and iOS platforms after the completion of the Finance Minister's budget speech.

More than 100 employees will remain locked in the basement 

After the hassle of making the budget, after getting consent from the Finance Minister, the documents related to the budget are sent to the printing press in the basement of the Finance Ministry. Budget documents are considered highly confidential. And so that these confidential documents do not get leaked, during the printing of the budget document, more than 100 employees of the Finance Ministry remain locked in the basement for the printing of the budget document. During this time, the closed officers stay here day and night till the budget is presented. Can't even go to my home. The family members can contact their loved ones only by calling the officials of these employees. There will be no internet and phone facilities. Food is prepared for them in the canteen of the Finance Ministry. There is also a sleeping arrangement for them in the basement itself.
