So far, 1318 stations have been identified for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
ROB will be made in these states
According to the information received from Northern Railways, out of 92 ROBs/RUBs, there are 56 in Uttar Pradesh, 17 in Haryana, 13 in Punjab, 04 in Delhi, 01 in Himachal Pradesh and 01 ROB/RUB in Jammu and Kashmir. . Their number is 43 in Lucknow division, 30 in Delhi, 10 in Firozpur, 07 in Ambala and 02 in Moradabad. Railways have built Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and underpasses to prevent accidents at railway crossings.
What is Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
The railway station is being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The objective of this scheme is to increase the facilities by preparing a master plan for the railway stations. In these, waiting rooms, good cafeteria and retail facilities are being developed. Besides, the platform is also being developed. Wide roads, signage, walkways, parking areas and lighting systems will be developed. Besides, facilities for disabled people are also being developed at the stations. Existing facilities are also being made modern. 2 crore passengers travel by Indian Railways daily and 800 crore passengers annually. Besides, goods worth billions of rupees are also transported through railways.
