Aditya Birla Group: Aditya Birla Group launches Birla Opus paint brand, aims to achieve revenue of Rs 10000 crore in 3 years

Aditya Birla Group Update: The dominance of Asian Paints, Berger and Kansai Nerolac in the paints industry is going to face a big challenge from today. After cement, Aditya Birla Group has now entered the decorative paints industry. The group's flagship company Grasim has entered the paints business under the name of Birla Opus brand. The paints industry is currently worth Rs 80,000 crore, whose turnover can increase to Rs 3 lakh crore by 2024.

Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla launched his new decorative paints brand Birla Opus Paints in Panipat, Haryana. Has been announced to be launched. Along with this he also launched the logo of Birla Opus. The company has set a revenue target of Rs 10,000 crore in the next three years. With this, Aditya Birla Group has entered the Rs 80,000 crore paints industry. Grasim Industries has invested Rs 10,000 crore to start paints business in the name of Birla Opus. 

Largest pan India launch 

Birla Opus products will be available in Punjab, Haryana and Tamil Nadu from mid-March 2024. And from July 2024, Birla Opus products will be made available in all the towns of India with a population of more than one lakh. The company has set a target of creating a distribution network in 6,000 cities by the end of the financial year. This will be the fastest pan India launch of any paint brand in India.   

Experience of being associated with the building materials ecosystem 

On the launch of Birla Opus, Kumar Mangalam Birla said,  Aditya Birla Group has a long experience of being associated with the building materials ecosystem. Due to this, Birla is going to transform the Opus Paints industry by increasing its capacity by 40 percent. He said that no paint company in the world would have ever launched factories, operations, products and services simultaneously as we are going to do.  

Direct Painting Services Available 

Birla Opus is also launching direct painting services under the name of Paintcraft to attract consumers, through which a range of products and services will be available at one place. Birla Opus has included 3 lakh painting contractors under the sampling program.

Turnover of paints sector will be Rs 3 lakh crore

The company said in its statement that India will be a 10 trillion dollar economy by 2024, by which time the turnover of the paints sector will have crossed Rs 3 lakh crore and Birla Opus is ready to capitalize on this opportunity. After the launch of Birla Opus, Grasim's stock closed at Rs 2201 with a rise of 0.33 percent. However, apart from Aditya Birla Group, JSW Group is also going to enter the paints sector.
