Ahmedabad: Cases of online fraud have been on the rise since the advent of smart phones and the Internet. In one such case, Dariapur police has resolved a difference. It was expensive for a young man to become a girl and make online friendships. The young man created an online account in the girl’s name. He later became friends with other girls. Eventually, his vessel exploded. Dariapur police have arrested the youth in the case and taken further action.

According to Dariapur police, they have arrested 28-year-old Hitesh Soni, a resident of Nawa Vadaj, in the case. He is a native of Barmer district of Rajasthan. He created a false social media account in the girl’s name. He created not one but several accounts on Instagram. He also put a photo of the girl in his profile photo. This is how he used to send friend requests to other young women. Then the girl in front was chatting with him when he replied. But his game did not last long.

If a young woman or woman liked his photographs, he would take a screenshot of her. He then used this screenshot as his display picture. He was constantly changing his profile photo from this one to another. Police seized about 400 screenshots from her mobile phone when she was apprehended.

Accused Hitesh Soni’s case erupted when a young woman lodged a police complaint in the matter. The police then conducted a deep investigation and nabbed the accused. Police investigation revealed that he lives in Shivam apartment in Vyaswadi. Originally from Rajasthan, he used to get gold jewelery from various jewelers in the city and put diamonds on it.

He loved befriending young women and girls. So he took this path. So he created a fake account on his Instagram account and then he used to send friendship requests to other girls. Every four to five days he used the photo of the girl in front of him as his profile photo. Eventually his vessel exploded. The police have registered a case and taken further action.
