Ozone Day 2022 Theme

World Ozone Day is celebrated on 16 September every year to make people aware of the importance of the ozone layer and its impact on the environment. The theme of this year’s World Ozone Day is ‘Ozone for Life: 35 Years of Ozone Layer Protection’ to mark 35 years of global ozone layer protection.

Ozone layer is as important as oxygen. Because that is why the earth is protected. The ozone layer protects the Earth from the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. These rays from the sun can cause many skin diseases.

This day is observed since 1995 by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). In 1978, many countries agreed to take measures to deal with the harmful effects of chemicals on the ozone layer at a conference in Montreal, Canada. This agreement is considered very important in terms of environmental protection. Because 2010 and 2030 timelines for changes in chemicals have been set and are being met.
