Will Scotland break away from the UK? United Kingdom is made up of so many countries, why now the fear of disintegration

Britain, the country which drew the blueprint for the partition of India-Pakistan and the partition of Palestine, can now have a serious discussion on its own partition as well. In fact recently this happened for the first time in Scotland when a Muslim leader was elected to the first post.

In such a situation, the question arises that why is Scotland demanding independence? Who is this Hamza Yusuf? How many other countries make up the United Kingdom?

To understand the demand for independence of Scotland, one has to understand the structure of Britain. If you look at the world map, you will find that Britain is situated on the north-west coast of the European continent. The full form of Great Britain is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island.

This country is made up of four provinces. These four provinces are England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Southern Ireland was also a part of Great Britain before its separation in 1922.

Now talk about these four provinces

England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland may have the identity of these four countries, but these four provinces have their own distinct identity. From the leaders here to the languages, everything is different. English is the official language of the United Kingdom, but Welsh is spoken in Wales, and Scottish is used in Scotland.

The Story of Britain’s Formation

Scotland: Scotland was an independent country before its merger with Britain. In 1603, Queen Elizabeth I of England died without any heir. In such a situation, the crown of England also went to King James VI of Scotland and with this the ground was being prepared for joining Scotland with England.

This year, Wales and Scotland decided that they would form a new country together with England and on 1 May 1707, Scotland and England agreed to establish Great Britain under a political agreement. This new country was named ‘United Kingdom of Great Britain’.

Ireland:  In the year 1800, Ireland also decided to merge with England but the people there were not happy with it. As a result, due to this decision taken by the king and the nobles here, the nationalist public continued to protest against Ireland. The Irish people fought very violently against the British and in the year 1922, a separate country named Republic of Ireland was formed by joining 26 counties of Ireland. At the same time, a part of this country i.e. part of North Ireland remained with Britain.

Which countries are now in the United Kingdom

Now in the United Kingdom, there are Scotland, Britain and Ireland. However, now Scotland wants to end its 300-year-old relationship with England and become an independent country.

What rights do Scotland currently have, the Three Points

In the year 1997, a referendum was held for Scotland demanding a separate parliament. In which Scotland won and formed its own government.

In the year 1999, Britain gave Scotland the right to make its own law on health, education, agriculture. But even today Britain has the authority on important issues like foreign policy, defence, that means all the decisions related to these issues are taken by British MPs.

Why do Scottish people want Scotland to separate from Great Britain

The population of Scotland is 5.5 million. That is, this population is 8 percent of the total population of Britain. According to Scotland, even after having such a population, it is not in the interest of Scotland to take the decision of Britain for them.

Whenever this issue caught hold

Year 2011:  Ever since the Scottish National Party gained majority in the year 2011, it had put forward its demand by emphasizing on the issue of independent Scotland. Hamza Yusuf, 37, now the First Minister of Scotland, is also the leader of this party.

Year 2014: A referendum was also held in Scotland regarding this demand. In which 45 percent of the total population supported a separate country, while 55 percent opposed it. At that time Scotland had to stay with Britain but for so many years this issue was redeemed.

Who is Hamza Yusuf

37-year-old Hamza Yusuf will become the first Muslim leader of the Scottish National Party as well as the first Muslim to lead a country in Western Europe. His father was born in Pakistan and his mother was born in Kenya to a family of Punjabi origin. Joseph’s father immigrated to Scotland with his family in the 1960s.

How Hamza’s appointment marks historic moment for UK

The appointment of Hamza Yusuf as the first minister of Scotland is not only a historic moment for the UK but also for the first time in history that Britain has a Hindu prime minister at the top (Rishi Sunak) and Scotland’s top post but Muslim first minister.

Yousuf said in his victory speech that today should be a day of pride for all of us that today we have sent a clear message, that the color of a person’s skin, your faith is not a hindrance to lead the country that we Our house is called.

Hamza Yusuf has told on stage many times before how he had to face racist abuses and discrimination. At the very beginning of the contest for the first minister, he started receiving many threats, at that time he had to call the police. A 25-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were also arrested for threatening them.
