Japan News: Yoshikazu Higashitani, MP Yoshikazu Higashitani, a YouTuber gossip-celebrity who thought he would get more accolades if he tried his hand at politics, only to be elected as an MP. A few months later, he was expelled from the Japanese Parliament. This is only the second time in Japanese history that a parliamentarian has lost membership due to persistent absenteeism.
The eight-month political career of Yoshikazu Higashitani, popularly known online as GaaSyy, came to an end on Tuesday after his colleagues voted against him for missing a single call to work in parliament. According to media reports, Yoshikazu did not attend the Parliament session for a single day. Due to which people "no-show mp3" (No-Show MP).
Who is Yoshikazu Higashitani?
Yoshikazu Higashitani (51 years old) is one of 2 MPs elected from Sejika Joshi-48 opposition group in Japan. This single-issue party advocates the abolition of license payments for the National Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) as part of its efforts to reform Japan’s public broadcaster. This party often changes its name for the purposes of its propaganda. Recently, party leader Takashi Tachibana announced that the solution to the complaints Higashitani had received was that he should resign.

Why was Yoshikazu expelled?
The Disciplinary Committee of the Japanese Parliament, composed of 10 of Yoshikazu’s peers from the Senate, decided to expel him from Parliament because of his frequent absences. Higashitani defied parliament’s request to appear in Tokyo last week to apologize for his absence.
