Astronomers in Pune have discovered eight characteristic stars that emit radio waves. Discovered using the GMRT (Meterwave Radio Telescope), these stars are several times larger than the Sun, with a warmer and stronger magnetic field. The range of these stars has been named as Main Sequence Radio Pulse Emitters. So far, a total of 15 MRPs have been detected by organizations around the world, out of which 11 MRPs have been detected with the help of GMRT near Narayangaon. Eight stars have been discovered in the current year.
