China Unborn Twin: Doctors in China discovered a twin in the brain of a one-year-old boy. This information was given with the help of a new study. A study published in the Journal of Neurology in December last year revealed that the child was having brain problems. During this the size of his head had increased.
Doctors in Shanghai scanned the child before treating him. During this, the doctors noticed that there are two twin fetuses in the child’s brain. In medical language, such a thing is called monochorionic dianotic.
The fetus is called a parasitic twin
If a fetus is found anywhere in the body of a fully born child, it is called a parasitic twin. This occurs when twins are joined in the uterus, but only one continues to develop, reports the Miami Herald. At the same time, it was found in the study that after genome sequencing, the embryo was found to be the twin of the child. Cases of embryo-in-fetus occur during the early stages of twin pregnancy, according to a report in IFL Science.
This happens when there is a group of tissue formed with the help of a fertile egg. This group is used to separate the tissue, which is called blastocyst. If it is not successful in separating, then they start developing inside the body.
Cases have been seen before too
However, the unborn twin continues to get a supply of blood from the body, due to which it remains alive. It was said in the study that in this way the development of the fetus continues. Although such cases are rare, they have been found in the past as well. During 1997 in Egypt a fetus was discovered inside the stomach of a 16 year old teenage boy, which had been lying in his stomach for 16 years.
