T20 World Cup 2022: Sri Lanka squad announced for T20 World Cup; Opportunity for Asia Cup winning players

T20 World Cup 2022: The Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia has been announced. Sri Lanka  Dushmanta Chamira and Lahiru Kumara have been given a chance in the 15-member team announced by the board. But, their participation will depend on their fitness. So, Ashen Bandara, Praveen Jayawickrama, Dinesh Chandimal, Binisa Fernando and Nuwanidu Fernando have been selected in the team as reserve players. The team selected by the Sri Lankan board for the T20 World Cup after the Asia Cup is almost the same. Dinesh Chandimal, who returned to the team in the Asia Cup, has been selected as a reserve player in the T20 World Cup.

T20 World Cup will be played in total 16 teams. Which includes the team of Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, UAE, Netherlands and Zimbabwe. Dasun Shanaka (captain), Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nisanka, Kusal Mendis, Charit Aslanka, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Dhananjaya de Silva, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahesh Tikshana, Jeffrey Wenderse, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chamira (subject to fitness), Lahiru Kumara, Dilshan Madhushanka, Pramod Madhushan.

Upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in this major city of Australia
In the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, a total of 46 matches will be played from October 16 to November 13. All these matches will be played in seven cities of Australia namely Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The semi-final matches will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide on November 9 and 10. So, the final will be played in Melbourne on November 13.
