A spokesman for Pakistan’s Fisher Folk Forum said three boats carrying 35 people sank in the Arabian Sea near the coastal town of Keti Bunder.
“Three boats sank due to stormy weather and strong winds,” he said, adding that two people died when they tried to swim to the shore.
He said that 33 fishermen have been rescued in the last 48 hours in Marine Security Agency and Navy boats. Eight fishermen were rescued from the Ormara coastal area on Monday, they said.
According to a statement issued by Thatta’s deputy commissioner’s office, the rescue operation has been completed.
