Patanjali planning to develop palm oil in Northeast
Ruchi Soya, a company led by Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Group, plans to start oil-palm plantations in Assam, Tripura and other northeastern states. Edible oil processing company Ruchi Soya was acquired by Patanjali Group two years ago. At that time the company was in loss. Patanjali Group has already conducted field survey for palm plantations. These plantations will be set up through contracts with farmers. The purchase of oil palm will be guaranteed by Ruchi Soya’s processing plants to be set up in those states.
