Doctor Killed In Pakistan: A heart-wrenching case has come to the fore in Pakistan. Here a driver killed his boss by slitting his throat in a minor dispute. According to media reports, dermatologist Dr. Dharam Dev Rathi was killed by his driver on Tuesday (February 7) in Hyderabad, Pakistan.
Pakistan’s news outlet quoted the police of Pakistan as saying, the driver killed the doctor by stabbing him with a knife. The police arrested the accused driver from his house in Khairpur on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Hanif Leghari.
‘The chef gave information about the murder’
According to the report, his own chef called the police to inform about the doctor’s murder. The doctor’s cook told that, after reaching there, the driver took out a knife from inside the kitchen and killed the doctor. After this the driver fled from the spot in the doctor’s car. A report in The Nation states that Dr. Dharam Dev Rathi was a renowned dermatologist in the Hyderabad region.
‘Assured to get justice’
Pakistan’s provincial minister for minority affairs Gyan Chand Israni praised the police for arresting the suspect within 24 hours. He also assured justice to the family of the slain doctor.
Faryal Talpur, head of the women’s wing of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), condemned the murder and described the incident as heart-wrenching. He also assured to get justice to the doctor’s family. He said that this is a very sad incident especially at a time when the Hindu community was celebrating Holi.
The brutal murder of Daya Bhil
In the month of December last year also, a Hindu woman named Daya Bhil was murdered in the Sindh province of Pakistan. After this murder, the Government of India had advised to ensure the safety of the Hindu community.
