Miss Universe contestant in Israel found infected with Kovid-19

JERUSALEM, Nov 29 (AP) Organizers of next month’s Miss Universe pageant say one of the contestants has tested positive for COVID-19.

It was not immediately clear whether he was infected with the new variant ‘Omicron’.

Israeli officials have said they will hold the competition in the southern city of Elliot in December, despite the rapidly expanding redesign.

The ‘Miss Universe Organization’, which is organizing the competition, did not specify the contestant or her nationality who has been found to be infected with Kovid-19.

The organization said on Monday that the contestants were found infected upon arrival in Israel and have been kept in a government-run isolation hotel. Contestants found infected have been vaccinated and were also screened before departure.

Organizers said most of the 80 contestants had arrived in Israel.
