Imran Khan gets chilly for comparing Pakistan government with Taliban, orders probe against senior bureaucrat

Imran Khan Ordered An Inquiry: A senior bureaucrat of Pakistan has spoken of similarities between the government of the country and the government of Taliban in Afghanistan on social media platform. Prime Minister Imran Khan has got chilli on this. Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry against the senior bureaucrat. This information has been given in media reports.

According to a statement of allegations issued by the Establishment Division on Monday, an inquiry has been ordered against Hammad Shamimi, a senior joint secretary of the Cabinet Division, reported Dawn newspaper. According to reports, Hammad Shami had posted a comment on a social media page/platform, which was tantamount to misconduct under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) 2020 Rules.

Prohibition of use of social media by government officials
In a separate notification issued by the Government of Pakistan on Monday, an inquiry has been ordered against Senior Joint Secretary Hammad Shamimi. It states that the investigation should be completed within 60 days, while the investigating officer has to submit an inquiry report to the authority within seven days of the completion of the investigation with clear findings. Along with this, government officials have been banned from using social media platforms. Government servants are prohibited from participating in any media platform except with the permission of the government.
