Historic meeting between the Defense Ministers of Israel and Morocco

Rabat, Nov 24 (AP) Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz met with his Moroccan counterpart in Rabat on Wednesday. Israel’s Defense Minister is on a historic visit to Morocco to formalize security cooperation between the two countries.

Israel and Morocco established formal relations last year under the US-mediated Abrahamic Agreement.

Gantz’s visit is the first official visit by an Israeli Defense Minister to the Arab country of Morocco. Its aim is to further strengthen the defense ties between the two countries.

Gantz met with Moroccan Defense Minister Abdel Latif Lodi and the two leaders are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding, laying the foundation for security cooperation and a future arms deal.
