Apple: Indian employee defrauded Apple company of 140 crores, may be sentenced to 20 years

Apple Latest News : It has come to light that an ex-employee has cheated Apple company of 20 million dollars (140 crores). Dhirendra Prasad of Indian origin has been found guilty of cheating the Apple company of crores of rupees. In this case, Dhirendra can be jailed for up to twenty years. Dhirendra has worked with Apple company for almost ten years. Dhirendra has accused the company of embezzling 140 crores till 2018.  

Dhirendra Prasad of Indian origin worked in the Global Service Supply Department at Apple Company for ten years. Dhirendra has pleaded guilty and faces up to 20 years in prison. Dhirendra has embezzled 140 crore rupees from the Apple company in California.  Dhirendra can be punished up to twenty years in this case. Prasad has pitched the company using different ideas.  Dhirendra had accumulated money by doing many things like corruption, inflating currency, taking money for services that Apple never received. 

In a written petition, 52-year-old Prasad has confessed to the crime. He worked as a buyer in Global Service Supply Department with Apple Company from 2008 to 2018. From 2011, Dhirendra started scamming the company.  Used to harvest from motherboard components. Apart from that, Baker used to send these components back to the company. For that he was filing CTrends invoice. Dhirendra Prasad was distributing the amount received from this scam. Dhirendra admitted to defrauding the company between 2011 and 2018.  Because of this, Apple Company has lost 17 million dollars i.e. 140 crore rupees.

The court has reserved the decision of Dhirendra Prasad till March. Local reports said that they will be sentenced in March. Dhirendra has been convicted of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud. The US government has confiscated more than five million dollars of Dhirendra Prasad’s property. Prasad’s case will be heard on March 14. In this case, Dhirendra Prasad can be sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison.
