Berlin, Jan 24 (AP) A gunman opened fire on Monday at a lecture theater in the southwestern German city of Heidelberg, wounding several people.
Police said in a brief statement that the perpetrator was also killed, but did not explain how this happened.
Police previously told people on Twitter to stay away from the Neuenheimer Feld area of Heidelberg, where the city’s university is located.
Police did not say how many people were injured or how many were in critical condition.
