VADODARA / SURAT: Police have come across an important link in the case of a victim who committed suicide in Gujarat Queen Express after being gangraped by two persons at a vaccine ground in Vadodara. Police have so far failed to find solid evidence that can reach the accused in the case and have found the victim’s bicycle. According to the details received, the bicycle was found from Vadodara. Not only that, in this case, the police have also arrested a guard of a private security agency.

A team led by CID Crime IG Subhash Trivedi has been formed by the DGP to probe the case. Yesterday, the team of Vadodara Railway LCB succeeded in finding the girl’s bicycle. Police believe that the girl was passing by Laxminagar Society on a bicycle when two persons hit her with a rickshaw. The same guys then took the girl to the vaccine ground and gangraped her.

Police investigating the case received input that a bicycle had been taken away by Watchmen. He was not found when police launched an investigation into the Watchmen. Police finally found the bicycle on Wednesday when the guard was found. A guard named Mahesh Rathwa hid his bicycle in a bungalow and threw leaves at it. Police also found a bicycle tire at Mahesh’s house. Mahesh Rathwa is currently under interrogation.

On the other hand, the managers of the organization where the girl was working say that she got a call that day in which she said that her bicycle had been hit by someone and she had been beaten. However, the administrators also claimed that the girl was helping an uncle and told him on the phone that he would reach the office with his help.

According to the organization’s administrators, the victim went to the home of another young woman who was working with him that night instead of the accommodation provided by the organization. From there she boarded the train and left for her home in Navsari. Administrators were in Jammu and Kashmir when he sent the message for help, and could not reply after seeing the message as it was sent late at night. It is to be mentioned that in the same message, the young lady expressed her fear of killing herself. The screenshot of this message also went viral.

The 18-year-old victim is a native of Navsari. She was working at Oasis Institute, Vadodara. The girl’s body was found from a train in Valsad on November 4. During the investigation, police found a diary of the girl, in which she wrote that she had been gang-raped at the Vaccine Ground by a rickshaw puller and one of her accomplices. Police have been searching for the rickshaw puller ever since, but have not been able to find him.

In the last 21 days, police have formed 25 different teams to interrogate dozens of rickshaw pullers and have missed CCTV footage of many areas. An estimate has also been made as to where the girl may have been raped. Employees of the organization where the victim was working have also been questioned. According to the Valsad Railway Police FIR, an employee of the girl’s diary took the photos and sent them to the trustees. These photos were then deleted.
