After a thorough interrogation by the police, Mehul confessed that he had killed the girl along with two of his friends. Accused Mehul said that he and the deceased had been in love for over a year, however, when the girl refused to pursue the affair, Mehul strangled her to death along with her friends. Unbeknownst to anyone, to destroy the evidence, they took the girl’s body to the forest and sprayed petrol on her face and set it on fire.
The girl married the rapist, but the court said the complaint would not be dismissed.
Accused Mehul further confessed that he and his two friends had gone to Vandaria village on a bike. Around nine in the morning, he called to meet the girl. When the girl reached there with Activa, Mehul stabbed her in the back. Which caused her to fall to the ground and Mehul met with friends and killed her. He threw the weapon used in the murder into the lake.
After which Mehul, with the help of friends, dressed the girl in his jacket and took her to Bhanapadi Bhanpura forest on his Activa. Where petrol was sprayed on him. The trio later fled. Police found the girl’s bag, jacket and some torn documents at the scene. The girl had left home two days ago asking to go for tuition and after receiving the news of her murder, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the family.
