The details of the incident are as follows: The mother and two sons of the Vyas family drowned in the Mahisagar river. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old mother Jyotiben Hemantbhai Vyas, 12-year-old Abhay Vyas and 10-year-old Mitesh Vyas. These people came to Karkhadi village. This afternoon, the youngest son Mitesh went to bathe in the Mahisagar river.
At that time for some reason Mitesh was tense in the flow of water of Mahisagar river. Seeing his son tense, Jyotiben jumped into the river to save him. Unfortunately both began to sink. Seeing this, the eldest son Abhay ran and jumped into the river to save them. He was also stranded in the river to save his mother and brother. Locals rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported.
The locals managed to get mother Jyotiben and son Abhay out of the river. Locals later shifted him to Padra’s private hospital for treatment. A team arrived at the scene after locals reported the incident to the fire department. A team of Vadodara Fire Department conducted an operation to find the youngest son Mitesh.
After an hour-long struggle, the fire department team found Mitesh in the deep waters of Mahisagar river and rescued him. Mitesh was also shifted to hospital for treatment. However, doctors on duty pronounced the mother and her two sons dead. The bodies of the three deceased were later shifted to Wadu Government Hospital for post-mortem by the Wadu police. However, the family of the deceased was deeply saddened after the incident.
