Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that a central institute for research on disaster management and mitigation would be opened in the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given in-principle consent for this. He has talked about this in the central government.

CM Dhami was talking to journalists. Being a Himalayan state, Uttarakhand was expecting to get green bonus in the budget, the Chief Minister said that he had raised this issue in the NITI Aayog meeting.

He has raised this issue before NITI Aayog. The population of the state is 1.25 crore, but it is under pressure to provide facilities for the floating population of about six crore. This should also be taken into account in budget allocation.

On the growing problem of wild animals being faced by the hill farmers producing millet grains, the Chief Minister said that there has been a discussion on this issue in the Mussoorie Chintan Shivir and recently in the IFS Week. To deal with this, the government has arranged a budget. How to deal with this problem so that traditional farming is encouraged, the government is working in this direction.

On the question of the problem of budgetary arrangement of state roads under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, the Chief Minister said that this issue has been placed before the Central Government. Center has been requested to increase the share in this scheme.

On the question related to assessment of carrying capacity of cities, the Chief Minister said that he has given instructions in this regard. The effort of the government is to strike a balance between ecology and economy. After the report of eight institutions in Joshimath comes, the government will move forward in this direction.
