Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission has announced the civic body elections in the state. Municipal elections will be held in two phases on May 3 and May 11. Elections will be held in 9 mandals of the state in each phase. The counting of votes will take place on May 13. This time EVM will be used in municipal elections. On the other hand, the election of the rest of the bodies will be done through the ballot box. Compared to the 2017 elections, this time 96 lakh more voters will vote for 14684 posts.

In which areas when elections
The body elections are to be held in two phases this time. The districts of 9-9 mandals have been included in each phase.

Phase I (3 May 2023)
Saharanpur Circle- Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur
Moradabad- Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal
Agra Circle- Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Mainpuri
Jhansi Circle – Jhansi, Jalaun, Lalitpur
Prayagraj Circle- Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh
Lucknow Circle – Unnao, Hardoi, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri
Devipatan Mandal- Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti
Gorakhpur Circle- Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj, Kushinagar
Varanasi circle- Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur
