Prayagraj/Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a panel of 1495 government advocates to represent the government in the Allahabad High Court and its Lucknow bench. The list of 829 advocates for Allahabad and 666 for Lucknow has been released. The government has canceled the appointment of all government advocates already working. A large number of advocates already posted have been removed from the new list. In the new list, 13 Additional Advocates General have been made. In this, eight Additional Advocates General are for Allahabad High Court while 5 Additional Advocates General are for Lucknow. The detailed list has been issued by the government.

Shiv Kumar Pal, who was Government Advocate in Allahabad, has also been made Additional Advocate General. On the other hand, Neeraj Tripathi, son of former Assembly Speaker Pandit Kesrinath Tripathi, has again been made Additional Advocate General. Apart from this, senior advocates Ashok Mehta, PK Giri, PK Srivastava, Manish Goyal, MC Chaturvedi and Ajit Kumar Singh have also been made Additional Advocates General. Similarly, out of nine CHCs, many names including Sheetal Prasad Gaur are new. The government has released the list of advocates for both civil and criminal side.

On the other hand, five Additional Advocates General Vinod Kumar Shahi, Kuldeep Pati Tripathi, Ashok Shukla, Anil Pratap Singh and Vimal Srivastava are among the newly appointed government advocates for the Lucknow bench. Additional Advocate General Ramesh Kumar Singh and MM Pandey and Chief Permanent Advocate Abhinav Narayan Trivedi have not been given a place in the new list. The government has appointed Shailendra Kumar, Prashant Singh Atal, Ravi Singh Sisodia, Deepshikha, Akhilesh Kumar Awasthi, Ajay Pandey and Jyotsna Pal as chief standing counsels in the new team.
