Recruitment of 69 thousand teachers: a blow to the Yogi government, the High Court canceled the selection list, gave instructions to review the reservation
Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has given a big blow to the Yogi government in the recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The High Court said that the rules have not been followed in fixing reservation in the recruitment process. In such a situation, the state government should review the selection list released on January 1, 2020. The court has also canceled the selection list of 6800 teachers. The court has directed the government that while reviewing, it should be kept in mind that the reservation should not be more than 50 percent.

Justice Om Prakash Shukla’s bench has given this decision after disposing of 117 petitions. The court said that in the appointment of 69 thousand teachers under the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination, the officials have also done many illegal things in fixing the reservation. There was no clarity in the marks and details of reserved category candidates who appeared in ATRI 2019. The state authorities did not even make any effort for this.

The court has ordered the government to review the selection list released on June 1, 2020 after the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination in the year 2019 within the next three months and decide the appropriate reservation. Apart from this, the court has also canceled the selection list of 6800 teachers released on January 5, 2022. The court also said that the teachers already appointed and currently selected on the basis of ATRI 2019 and posted in different districts will continue to work till the authorities revise the selection list.
