Lucknow: Soon Vibhutikhand bus stand will be able to get the ‘feel’ of the airport, know what facilities will be available
Lucknow: The state government will also develop bus stands on the lines of airports. 23 bus stands will be converted into bus ports on PPP mode. Of these, the process for five is in the final stage. Private developers have been selected to develop five bus stations including Vibhuti Khand in Lucknow. However, they are yet to be approved by the cabinet. About 1000 crore rupees will be spent on these.

The UP State Road Transport Corporation had started the bid process to develop bus stands on the lines of airports. Several private investors had expressed interest in the Global Investors Summit (UPGIS). Based on the proposals received, five investor-cum-developers have been selected for the development of bus stands. The work will start after the approval of the Committee of Secretaries headed by the Chief Secretary and then the cabinet. The Letter of Intent is expected to be issued by the end of this month.

What facilities will be available

Facilities like VIP lounge, cafeteria, food court, shopping mall, waiting area, escalator and lift will be developed in the bus port. 30 percent of the bus port will be for commercial activities. Buses and parking will be there in the remaining 70% space. Private developers will also do the maintenance work of the bus port.
