Case 1
Brajesh Singhal, a lawyer living in Patel Nagar Second, had opened a PPF account in the post office along with his wife. He paid by check in due time, but due to the mistake of the clerk, the payment was not updated in the account. Because of this the post office imposed a fine of 1200. Senior Clerk of the District Consumer Forum, Ravindra Kumar said that in this case the Forum accepted the mistake of the Senior Post Master and ordered Brajesh to pay interest on the amount.

Gautam Budh Nagar’s lawyer Hemant Kumar Goyal had sent the letter through speed post. The postal department returned the letter after a month without giving any concrete reason. He complained, but the department did not take action. Then reached consumer forum. Considering the deficiency in service, the forum imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the postal department in January.
case 3
In 2017, a company bike was stolen in Gautam Buddha Nagar. The company sought a claim from the insurance company. The insurance company kept the case pending for a long time. When the matter reached the forum, in December last year, it gave a decision to give Rs 18,000 to the insurance company with 6% interest. Along with this, asked to pay Rs 2000 as complaint fee.

District Consumer Forum: If the complaint case is up to Rs.20 lakhs.
State Consumer Forum: The complaint should be between 20 lakh to 1 crore rupees.
National Consumer Forum: If the amount in the complaint is more than Rs 1 crore.
