Ghazipur Bypoll: The date of by-election on Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat may be announced soon, who is Afzal’s claimant?

The preliminary checking of EVMs started at RTI Complex from Tuesday. This investigation will continue daily till May 22. On the first day, with the help of about 200 personnel, the first level checking (primary check) of CU, VU and VVPAT was done. Looking at the figures shared by the District Election Department, there are a total of 2024 booths in the Ghazipur Lok Sabha. Whose 150 percent EVMs will have to be kept ready. In this context, there is a plan to prepare 3036 EVMs by checking etc. For which, from the cleaning of EVMs to its technical investigation and ongoing status is being reviewed.

District Magistrate Aryaka Akhori told the media in this regard that EVMs are technically checked before any election. In this sequence, EVMs etc. are currently being examined by the engineers of Bharat Electronics in Ghazipur. He told that all these preparations are being done on the guidelines of the Election Commission regarding the by-election of Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat in the coming days.

BSP leader Afzal Ansari was disqualified from the Ghazipur Lok Sabha by the Lok Sabha Secretariat after he was sentenced to four years imprisonment. Since then the Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat is vacant. The dates for the by-election on this Lok Sabha seat can be announced by the Election Commission in the coming days.
