Big action on 2 officials of mining department on the instructions of CM Yogi, Mine officials of Maharajganj and Amethi suspended

Abhay Singh, Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, along with bulldozers running on mafia, criminals and their illegal properties, strict action is also being taken against officials involved in corruption. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, action has been taken against two officials of the mining department involved in corruption. Mines Officer and Assistant Chemist, Maharajganj, Ravendra Kumar has been suspended. While giving instructions for departmental action against Amethi’s Mines Officer Manish Yadav, he has been attached to the headquarters.

Actually, the UP government is working on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption. On the other hand, according to the information received from the Mining Department, complaints of illegal mining and transportation were received in some districts of the state. Regarding this, a team was constituted by the department on the instructions of CM Yogi. Under the leadership of Additional Director Geology and Directorate of Mining, the Directorate’s team conducted a surprise investigation on the secret information of illegal transportation of minerals on the Bachhrawa, Lalganj, Fatehpur road of Rae Bareilly on the night of 20-21 March.

During the investigation, the team formed by the department had caught 6 vehicles of Balu-Maurang transporting without form. The seized vehicles were challaned online while 3 vehicles were handed over to the custody of Police Station Lalganj. On the other hand, on the instructions of Director Geology and Mining, the District Magistrate Maharajganj had got the vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals investigated.

In the investigation, Maharajganj DM found laxity in illegal mining and transportation of minerals by Mines Officer and Assistant Chemist Ravendra Kumar. Along with this, complaints of illegal recovery from vehicles were also received. Acting on which, with immediate effect, Ravendra Kumar was suspended. Along with this, departmental proceedings have also been started against him. The caught drivers had told during interrogation that the mine officials and employees collect illegal money from the illegal transporters in the form of entry fees.
