Sunil Saket, Agra: A fierce fire broke out on Monday morning at Nand Plaza located in Shahjadi Mandi of Police Station Sadar area in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The fire broke out at 5 am, in which a gym and restaurant were gutted in the blaze. It took four hours to bring the fire under control. The loss due to the fire has been estimated in lakhs. The incident took place on Monday morning at 5 am. Flames started rising from Nand Plaza located in Shehzadi Mandi. Seeing this, there was chaos in the area.

The local people informed the police and fire brigade. The police reached the spot first. After this five fire brigade vehicles reached, but the fire was getting worse. After this the fire brigade called for two more vehicles. The fire has been brought under control after 4 hours of hard work. Station Sadar in-charge Neeraj Kumar Sharma says that prima facie the cause of the fire has been detected due to short circuit. The owner of the gym and restaurant is being ascertained. There is a possibility of loss of lakhs.

First in gym then in restaurant
Eyewitnesses have a gym built on the third floor of Nand Plaza. The flames were first coming out of the gym. Smoke started rising everywhere. After this the flames reached the restaurant. There was a fierce fire in both. Police and fire brigade had to struggle hard to extinguish the fire.

four hours, seven fire engines
There is a gym on the third floor of Nand Plaza. There is a pizza store and restaurant on the second floor of the plaza. The fire in the gym also engulfed the restaurant on the second floor. It took the police and fire brigade more than four hours to douse the fire. The fire was brought under control by 9.30 am. 7 fire engines were called to extinguish the fire. Station in-charge Inspector Neeraj Sharma says that the fire has been brought under control.
