Noida: Noida’s public toilets will become models for other cities, on World Toilet Day you can also know the facilities here

Noida: The public toilets developed by the Noida Authority are going to become a model for other cities as well. Today (Saturday) on World Toilet Day, the model of Noida’s sustainable public toilet will be presented in Bengaluru. Under the Swachh Survekshan, the Karnataka government has called a conference of the cleanest cities in the country on World Toilet Day. In this, the model of Noida Public Toilet has been selected as a sustainable project. Noida Authority has sent OSD Dr. Avinash Tripathi for the presentation.

Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari started work in 2019 towards the construction of public and pink toilets in the city. After this the city became ODF free and the common man also got facilities. All public toilets in Noida have been built without assistance from the central and state governments. Not only this, the authority has constructed many public toilets on BOT (Built Operate and Transfer) basis without its own expenditure. The agencies that get them made are also taking care of them. In return, the authority has merely given permission to the agencies to put up promotional material.

Features included

  • Authority CEO himself monitors and inspects public facilities in public toilets.
  • Pink toilets were made where there is more movement of female population. In these, the emphasis was on convenience, security, privacy.
  • Sanitary pad vending machines and sanitary pad incinerators have been installed in pink toilets. In these, feeding areas were made for breast feeding mothers.
  • Benches have also been installed for women to sit in the toilet premises itself. They open from 8 am to 8 pm.


Target to build 200 public toilets in Greno
On the occasion of World Toilet Day, the Greater Noida Authority has set a target of 200 public toilets in the city. CEO Ritu Maheshwari has started laying emphasis on public toilets here too. It was told by the authority that out of 200, 32 toilets are going to be constructed by the authority. Of these, 11 are being built and 19 have been built.
