When Kanpur fans ransacked in anger
Recalling the incident of vandalism by fans, Divyendu Sharma said, ‘Once upon a time, in a cafe in Kanpur, he was shooting for a show named ‘Kanpuriye’. There was a huge crowd of people outside. That’s why the production guys asked me to leave. He told me to leave through the back door. Those people got so angry that they broke the glass of the shop.

Divyendu considers the people of Mumbai to be more civilized
Divyendu Sharma further said, ‘In those parts (Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh) such things become even more serious. Whereas in Mumbai it is not so. People recognize me when I go out in Mumbai, but behave in a very decent manner. They do not enter your range. But it’s nice to see this in other places. When you see that someone is in love with your character so much, I think to myself how?’
Divyendu Sharma said that ‘Mirzapur’ took his fame to a different level. Fans and other people got a great craze for his character. He said that he still goes to UP or MP and sometimes when he comes out of the vanity van everyone shouts ‘Munna Bhaiya’.
