Rejection for being good looking
Talking about rejections in his career, Karan told News18, “I’ve never been asked to do anything ‘right’ but what has always been a hindrance to me is ‘you’re not doing this’. Looks great for the role. This has been a real challenge that I have been facing for a very long time. I’m told, ‘You’re a good looking man and that’s the problem’ or they tell me ‘You’re a fit man, don’t look so fit’.
Good work on this basis to Star Kid
Karan further said, ‘I consider him to be quite a hypocrite because I have realized that when you see people coming from filmy families, their entry into films is based on their physique. People think that ‘he has a good body, good appearance, good hair, he has a good body, face or hair’. So I think it is quite hypocritical that to launch a starkid, you need a complete package but to find a non Bollywood actor, that package is the problem.
small roles for good actors
Karan further said, ‘And then you accept those people as they are.’ The actor also added to the never-ending debate on nepotism in the industry. Karan also said that sometimes even actors with the best physiques get a ‘small portion’ of roles. He said that people who look good are often portrayed as dark in skin tone.
