Krishnam Raju No More: Senior actor Krishnam Raju passes away

Senior actor, producer and rebel star Krishnam Raju is no more. He passed away at 3.25 am on Sunday in Hyderabad. He is 83 years old. He has a wife and three daughters. He worked as Union Minister. Born on January 20, 1940 in Mogalthur, West Godavari district. Acted in 187 films. In 1966, the heroine made her debut in Telugu cinema with the film Chilaka Gorinka. The full name of Krishnamraju, who gained craze as a rebel star in the industry, is Uppalapati Venkata Krishnamraju.

He has been ill for some time now and is being treated at AIG Hospital. He passed away on Sunday after the situation got out of hand. The family members said that the last rites will be held in Hyderabad on Monday. Prabhas, who is doing well as a Pan India hero, will be the elder father of Krishnamraj. The news that Krishna Raju has breathed his last has come as a shock to Tollywood.

Krishnamraju received Filmfare awards for his performance in films like Amaradeepam, Dharmatmadu, Bobbili Brahmana and Tandra Paparayudu. Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. Also, the films Amardeepam and Manavuri Pandavulu received President’s Awards. His last film was ‘Radhe Shyam’.

He also played his own role in politics. Worked as Union Minister during Vajpayee regime. Later joined Praja Rajya. Although he is not active in politics at present, he maintains good relations with political leaders. He is a major figure in the Movie Artist Association.
