Income Tax officials on Friday raided the offices of three leading Kerala film producers including Antony Perumbavoor at their offices in Kochi. The IT officials belong to the TDS wing of the Kochi office, finding out all the details of film producers Antony Perambavoor, Anto Joseph and Liston Stephen from their office
The sources say that IT officials examined the producers bank statements and also transactions with OTT platforms. It is being said that the raids were only limited to the offices of the producers Antony Perambavoor, Anto Joseph and Liston Stephen and the houses of are not under the scanner. The IT raid started from the morning and continued till evening.
The official said, “These producers Antony Perambavoor, Anto Joseph and Liston Stephen had filed their tax details in recent months. We carried out the checks at their offices to ensure that no tax evasion has taken place. As the film industry attracts investments especially from abroad, we carry out theinspections on a regular basis. Often the film industry is used for laundering of the money. ”
Antony Perumbavoor is very close to Malayalam star Mohanlal, and is all set to release the big-budget movie ‘Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea.’
